William Boyd

William Boyd, affectionately known as “Will” and lovingly called “Stinker” by his family, passed away on August 30, 2025, at Complete Care Phillipsburg Center. He was born on January 6, 1959, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John Wright and the late Elaine Wright. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Claritta Wright and Harriet Wright.

Will was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. From the early 1970s to the late 1970s, he worked in the dietary department at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Known for his outgoing personality, Will brought joy wherever he went. He loved singing karaoke and was widely recognized as one of the best dancers around town. In the early 1970s, he entered the Soul Train Dance Contest, where he proudly won second place. Always fashionable, he was often remembered as the best-dressed person at any event he attended.

Will had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need—even those he did not know. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Loved by family, friends, and neighbors, Will had a gift for making people laugh and always ensured that those in his presence felt welcomed.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Kisha Ryan; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; Clarence, whom he raised as his own; and his siblings, Alberta Wright, John Boyd (the late Michelle), Francis Boyd, Richard Boyd, Anthony Boyd, Theresa Jones (Joe), Dwight Wright, and Margaret Wright. He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Viewing and services will take place on Saturday September 6th, 2025 in the Shiloh Chapel. The viewing will be from 2 pm-3pm with the service starting immediately afterwards. Interment will be private.
