It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Ann Strunk, affectionately known as Rosie, who departed this world on January 1, 2026, at the age of 71, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus. Born on June 25, 1954, in the charming town of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of William Ehrgood Jr. and Viola Rehm, both of whom predeceased her.
Rosie's journey through life was marked by deep love and enduring commitment. She shared her life’s path for an incredible 41 years with her beloved husband, Charles Strunk, in the picturesque surroundings of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, where they built a life rich in love and togetherness. Their marriage was a testament to the beauty of companionship, cultivated through mutual respect and joy in each other's presence.
Her love extended to her siblings, Carol Frederick and Dawn Lee, and to the many nieces and nephews, whom she adored as if they were her own.
Professionally, Rosie made her mark as a Medical Scheduling Specialist at Geisinger in Mt Pocono, where her diligence and compassion left an indelible impact on both her colleagues and patients alike. A proud graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, she embraced opportunities for growth and learning throughout her life.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rosie was a woman of simple pleasures and profound joys. An avid crafter, her favorite tradition involved creating special Christmas ornaments with each family member, a practice that filled her with delight and fostered cherished memories. She took immense pleasure in hosting family gatherings, often showcasing her culinary skills, as these moments brought her the greatest happiness.
Rosie also embraced the outdoors, enjoying fishing trips with her family and indulging in her passion for golfing. Her spirit was imbued with a sense of adventure and a zest for life that was infectious; she lived her life to the fullest, embodying a philosophy of living without regrets.
She was also a devoted pet owner to her dog, Stewie, whose companionship added warmth to her days. As we reflect on Rosie’s life, we remember a woman who wore her heart on her sleeve, a simple woman whose love and laughter resonated deeply within all who knew her.
As we bid farewell to Rosie, let us celebrate the beautiful legacy she leaves behind—a legacy woven into the hearts and lives of her family and friends, who will forever hold her close in their memories. Rosie’s light will undoubtedly continue to shine brightly in the stories that will be shared and in the traditions that will carry forth her spirit.
