Peter Martin McGibbon, 63, of Bethlehem Township, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg Campus.
Born on September 26, 1962, in Kingston, Jamaica, Peter was the beloved son of the late Victor McGibbon and Daisy (McMorris) McGibbon. He spent his early years in Kingston before coming to the United States as a young man in pursuit of opportunity and a better life.
Peter was a devoted husband who shared 29 loving years of marriage with his wife, Donna. He was known for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and the way he naturally put others before himself. He never cared about titles, status, or recognition. He simply saw people for who they were and loved them wholeheartedly. Above all, he was a proud and loving father to his children, Caroline and Peter, whom he cherished deeply and guided with unwavering devotion.
He was a graduate of Ardenne High School in Kingston, Jamaica, and later continued his studies in business at the college level. Peter built a long and respected career in technology and operations, working for major financial institutions including Chemical Bank, JPMorgan Chase, IBM, and Wells Fargo. Throughout more than three decades of service, he was known as a diligent, dependable, and humble professional. A man who worked hard not for praise, but to provide for his family and serve with integrity.
A man of deep faith, Peter came to know the Lord as a child and was baptized by his father alongside his siblings. He remained rooted in his faith throughout his life and was an active member of Greater Shiloh Church, where he faithfully served on the Media Ministry.
Peter found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed family activities, fishing, hiking, taking photographs, and coaching soccer. A role in which he became a beloved mentor to many young people. He coached countless youths over the years, including his son and daughter, and was admired not only for his knowledge of the game but for the kindness, patience, and encouragement he poured into every child he worked with.
Peter will be remembered for his faith, his selfless heart, and the deep love he carried for his family. He leaves behind a legacy defined by his faith, his devotion as a husband and father, and the quiet humility with which he served others.
In addition to his father, Victor, Peter was preceded in death by loved ones who welcomed him into eternal rest.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his children, Caroline and Peter; his mother, Daisy (McMorris) McGibbon; his siblings, Grace McGibbon, his twin brother Paul McGibbon (Karlene), Stephen McGibbon (Karlene), and Ruth McGibbon; nephews and nieces, extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
