Obituary for Michele Houston

Michele Houston entered this life on March 31, 1962, in Newark, New Jersey, born to Mary Lee Cannon Houston and Bernard Morton Alexander. She peacefully departed this life with the love of her family by her side on July 15, 2025.

Michele proudly served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge, a testament to her strength, dedication, and service to her country.

She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings William, John, Eugene, Bobby, Donald, Jeffrey, and Brenda. Michele was a devoted and loving mother of six amazing children whom she deeply loved. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Hennix Jr.

She leaves behind her children: La-Tasha Jayniece Houston, Abdur Shakur Houston, Simira-Tee Al-Nisa Houston, Keith Macon Miller Sr., and Thomas Curtis Miller and her daughter In law: Cierra Shyann Miller.Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Camira Houston, Leo Houston, Destiny Houston, Qwayon Armstrong, Niajah Perez, Tatiana Houston, Na-Zhae Brown, Abdur Shakur Jr., Zakiyah Miller, LaNiyah Lewis, Jahiyah Miller, Jalianna Miller, Thomas Miller Jr., Keith Miller Jr., Aurora Houston, Khalil Miller, Naelani’Lí Jones and a host of other love ones.

Michele was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Za’Cari Armstrong, Jelanni Williams, Savion Houston, and Dominic Houston.

Michele will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strength through adversity, and the light she brought into the lives of those who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Michele will forever be in our hearts. May she rest in eternal glory.
